Brand Story

Modern design from Germany often gives a feeling of rigor, simplicity, and order. Charm is understated, while simplicity is emphasized. In this noisy and impetuous world, some designers have begun to seek beauty and elegance in indirect shapes and lines.

Apple's chief designer, Jonathan Ive, is a proponent of this simple and orderly design. Following in the footsteps of Dieter Rams, a top German design master who influenced West German design trends for over two decades, he designed Apple's best-selling iPod and iPhone products. Even faced with criticism from some for a perceived lack of emotional elements in his designs, Rams seamlessly combined functionality with a sensual aesthetic.

The philosophy of functional utilitarianism was nurtured in the post-World War II architectural wave at the Ulm School of Design (Ulm Design College) (1954-1968). Many renowned German design masters later studied there; it was during this era that the first German companies that valued design emerged, such as Braun; and it was during this time that good functionality became the definition of excellent classic design.

One of the founders and the first lecturer at the Ulm School of Design was the graphic artist Otl Aicher. He led West German design trends for decades. He designed logos for well-known German companies, such as Lufthansa, and the visual effects for the 1972 Munich Olympics. It can be said that Aicher's tireless efforts introduced a completely new "German image" to the world.

Design makes life better.
EKF collaborated with renowned designers to redesign the company's logo and redefine our design culture. This culture not only preserves our roots and traditions but also organically integrates the tradition and history of handles.

In 1998, EKF invited several well-known design masters to its Shanghai headquarters to design products such as EKF handles. These masters fully demonstrated their design concepts, bringing many classic products to EKF.

Handles as a design proposition.
From its beginnings as a small hardware factory in a small town, EKF has grown into a well-known design-driven manufacturing enterprise. EKF is dedicated to transforming handles from an overlooked daily necessity into a design classic with cultural significance. You might call this a clever marketing strategy, but you can't deny that it also reflects a serious and responsible attitude towards design. It is also a tribute to German design and other design-driven companies like us. This trend will eventually be recognized and loved worldwide.
